Description

Created by Italian - American composer Gian Carlo Menotti, The Old Maid and the Thief is an opera composed for radio shows. It tells the tale of Miss Todd, a woman of high standing within her community, but with a dull love life. Her housemaid Leticia is young and flirty and is often very wary of becoming an old maid like her employer. Enter Bob, a wanderer to say the least. He asks Miss Todd for food and shelter. Enthralled by his beauty, Leticia easily convinces Miss Todd to let him stay. The next day, Miss Todd learns that there is a thief in the surrounding area. Suspicions arise, and fingers are pointed. Could this spell disaster? Find out in the Old Maid and the Theif!
